
What Is Levaquin Used For?
Levaquin is a type of antibiotic which is used to treat various bacterial infections. Levaquin levofloxacin is categorized as part of the fluoroquinolone group of medications, and is taken orally. As of July 2008, the FDA announced it plans to “black box” all fluoroquinolone medications (including Levaquin) due to the horrific side effects they can cause.
Although the Levaquin drug has been FDA approved since 1996, the oral version of the drug has only been in existence since 2004. Oral doses of Levaquin are found in 500mg – 750mg capsules. The drug is also available intravenously and can cause Levaquin Side Effects. The main drug interaction of Levaquin is alcohol. Never mix alcohol and Levaquin.
Levaquin Causesd Tendon Rupture & Tendonitis

The most serious and frightening side effect Levaquin may cause is tendon ruptures or tendonitis. Tendon ruptures may occur at any time – while taking Levaquin or months after the Levaquin cycle was completed.
