A new analysis by the FDA has confirmed that the use of Levaquin and levofloxacin can increase risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. The FDA database has reported several hundred cases of tendon ruptures, tendonitis, and other tendon side effects caused by the medication. Achilles tendon ruptures are the most commonly reported side effect reported to the FDA.

Levaquin has received an FDA warning after copious amounts of people reported tendon injuries, disorders, and ruptures. FDA research found that the use of the drug may result in extensive surgery in order to repair the damage caused as a result of taking the drug.
